19th September 1915


A view of the gully below Bolton's Ridge, on which the 7th Battery's guns were located.



Sunday 19th 

Went to Ordnance again. My gang fitted themselves out - ! – a good deal of artillery firing to-day. last night our infantry attacked the Turks & captured several trenches near lone Pine.

13.45 Damaged parapets being rebuilt,  Sq. 68-B-6.

14.30 Earthworks under construction, Sq. 55-K-5.

15.30 Party of about 70 Turks observed leaving trenches by way of communication trench above “Boomerang Trenches”.  Sq 68-R-8.

15.40 New earthwork (apparently gun pit) under construction on crest of GUN RIDGE, Sq. 68-S-2.
