Wednesday 6th January
Left for training ground at 8.30, returning to camp
at 1.45. again trouble with watercarts. Not sufficient in number. Terribly
dusty road. Everybody covered when they returned to camp. Our tents also full.
Adjutant out on Area at 7AM, testing layers. The 7th Battery furnishes layers
as picket tonight carrying out tests tomorrow morning. Received from 3rd
Infantry Brigade four watercarts for use of Brigade. (on loan).
Received letter from Nell dated Dec 9th – last
received dated Nov 1st. lecture at night to officers and N.C.Os on work of day.
