A fine day. Felt tired after going to Ordnance yesterday to get articles indented etc.

(Lieutenant Sydney Francis Hodgens, temporary O/C 7th Battery)

09.00 Party working at new earthworks Sq. 55-K-5 – Engaged by 9^th Battery.

18.15 No. 3 gun fired 5 rds P.S (at range of 760^x) at sand-bag wall screening probable Machine Gun emplacement (Sq. 68-B-8) pointed out by Major Ross, 3^rd Infantry Bge. + desired destroyed by him.  Retaliation for gun firing on LONESOME PINE.  Wall entirely demolished.
