Gulf of Eden
Monday November 23 1914
We are getting up sports to be
held on next Saturday. It consists of
boxing, tug-o-war, potato, obstacle, egg and spoon and sack races. Apply plunge, roster in ring and a few others. I am entering for 4 events but owing to the
large entries they will have to draw to be allowed to go in for them. We are going to get leave at Aden so the rest
says. If I do I will try and get some
post cards. There is a lecture on
tonight at 7.15 and we will have questions asked about the guns and ammunition. We passed some islands this morning near the
South African Coast. The sea is as calm
as a mill pond here. We haven’t seen any
rough weather to speak of yet.
