11th May 1915

May 11 ANZAC  Tuesday

Gun near beach designated BRIGHTON BATTERY was concealed + was used to engage enemy’s guns firing from OLIVE GROVE which again fired on us during the day. 7th Battery was designated HUGHES Battery for purposes of identification by Divl Artilly HD Qrs.









Tuesday 11th May

Wrote Nell, father & mother and Alvord. Capt Doody, half brother to our Dr Marks had a long yarn with me. Mrs Sweetland, King and Rabett called on me. Wounds not feeling too well. Have to get a Skiagraph taken tomorrow. High Commissioner and Lady McMahon visited the Hospital.
