May 11 ANZAC  Tuesday

Gun near beach designated BRIGHTON BATTERY was concealed + was used to engage enemy’s guns firing from OLIVE GROVE which again fired on us during the day. 7^th Battery was designated HUGHES Battery for purposes of identification by Div^l Artilly H^D Qrs.

Tuesday 11th May

Wrote Nell, father & mother and Alvord. Capt Doody, half brother to our Dr Marks had a long yarn with me. Mrs Sweetland, King and Rabett called on me. Wounds not feeling too well. Have to get a Skiagraph taken tomorrow. High Commissioner and Lady McMahon visited the Hospital.
