Thursday
26th August
It is much cooler today + it looks like rain. It was fairly quiet all day but about 10 PM at night there was very heavy rifle fire on our left flank. It opened up just after I had returned from the stores on the beach. During the evening it rained a little. We got a very welcome mail in the afternoon.
